Google has been the sole developer behind the Chrome OS. So, one thing can be established from this and that is Google’s pioneering efforts can be seen through its innovation in the field of Operating System.
Not every company holds the reputation for which Google is known. The recent development is that Google is creating a new and updated operating system which is called Fuchsia. The difference between the previous versions of OS developed by Google, Fuchsia will be developed on a microkernel called Magenta. This will focus on running on all devices and the embedded application development will take place through C. The previous versions of the OS were based on Linux Kernel.
The new OS will have better features because it will be using an embedded software development technique will ensure that the OS runs on every type of device like computer devices and phones. The symbol of this latest OS from Google will be a fuchsia coloured square.
Why the new OS?
Google is a name that can instantly take over from any company. But one thing that even Google cannot deny is that a single OS cannot fit every device and the needs of every single person. Google may be developing a new OS but even it has not deterred from the fact that the new OS is meant for modernized versions of computers and phones. It will largely cater to the people who are looking forward to embrace new technology. The fact that will intrigue people when it comes to Fuchsia is that it is non-Linux and will definitely work on technology and other details which do not require the old format for coding.
Also, Fuchsia is going to be better because it is an open-source operating system. The real time interface that an open source OS offers is not present with every device. The OS is Google’s own invention completely because it is going to use the embedded firmware development that uses its own language. In Google’s case, it will be the dart programming.
Embedded application development is going to entirely the base for the new OS. Fuchsia will bring about changes that will work exceptionally for the small devices. It is going to give a boost to a new revolution of technology when it comes to operating system. Fuchsia could be easily used to work with fast paced processors.
One can easily see that the new operating system is going to be a big help for embedded software. However, if this OS becomes a hit for the future devices, Google will have to think about its Linux based OS as well. As both these OS will be competing or running parallel to each other, google will have to pull one out of the race. And even if Fuchsia is a new player, it will be not justified to actually pull its Linux based OS out of the race when they have been the major revenue generator for the past years.
However, Google is also trying to bring every aspect of its leading OS together to create the best OS that will fit all needs of a user. Right from Android to chrome to the upcoming Fuchsia, everything will be merged to give a smooth and seamless experience to its user base.
The OS still has time to come in the market but reports have stated that Fuchsia will first arrive on Raspberry PI 3. Overall, this OS does seem like a game changer, however only time will tell.
